Puttes mästerliga superplan

animal-turtleSå jag lyssnar ju och läser dagligen amerikanska nyheter – främst ”The Mueller Investigation”. För mig är det som en komplicerad deckare och den förhoppningsvis spännande upplösningen närmar sig.

Det är väldigt rörigt nu. Många karaktärer. Många sidoförvecklingar.

Och idag (igår kväll) öppnades en helt ny möjlighet. Den är både komplex och enkel och elegant på samma gång. Av Rachel Maddow.

Detta har hänt:

KGB-agenten Putte, tillika ledare för Nya Sovjet, försökte redan från början värva Mr. Orange, reality show-ledare, som agent, vilket var rätt enkelt. Deras gemensamma intressen var många. Mr. Orange ville bygga ett gyllene torn i Moskva, Putte ville få bort en massa sanktioner som kostade honom och hans miljardärskompisar multum, alla var överens om att det var bättre att USA lämnade alla sina krig och lät Putte ta över, och så var det förstås NATO som skulle stoppas.

Mr. Orange trodde inte egentligen på planen, men han gillade stora delar av den. Det var kul att få trycka till Bitchen, det var kul att få showa på stora rallies, det var kul att kunna dänga till folk på Twitter.

Så han och hans närmaste tog tacksamt emot all hjälp de kunde. Samtidigt sa han sånt som Putte ville höra. Han berättade att NATO var onödigt, han hånade USAs allierade, han attackerade Bitchen, som också Putte hatade, och allt var frid och fröjd. Hans minions och Puttes team jobbade ihop för att han skulle vinna – de hackade motståndarlaget, de hittade en avdankad hacker, som efter en påstådd våldtäkt gömde sig i London på en liten ambassad och som publicerade allt de hittade, och Mr. Orange såg framför sig hur hans affärer skulle blomstra i åratal framöver.

De hade gjort upp en plan för vad som skulle hända om han förlorade. Han skulle hävda att det var motståndarsidan och inte han som hade fuskat, och så skulle Putte få sin hämnd, när kaos utbröt i USA.

Men så vann han.

Och det var inte riktigt med i beräkningen. I alla fall inte i hans, men kanske i Puttes. Och nu inleddes Operation White House. Kontakter etablerades, möten hölls, gemensamma strategier las upp.

Mycket lite av detta var känt då. Det har rullats upp efter hand.

Men idag befinner sig Mr. Orange djupt i klistret. FBI har en specialenhet som är honom på spåren, den ene efter den andre av hans tidigare vänner åker dit, och snart är det bara han kvar.

Något måste göras, snabbt.

Tänk om man skulle skada hela FBI. OK, det är inte just nu möjligt att slå mot specialenheten som utreder honom, men alla andra. Man ser helt enkelt till att tvinga dem att jobba utan lön. Då hamnar de rätt snabbt i finansiell knipa, och många av dem blir targets för ryska agenter som försöker rekrytera. Andra säger upp sig. Dessutom kommer det att bli megasvårt för FBI att rekrytera nya medarbetare i framtiden.

Detta skulle vara det absolut största hotet mot USAs säkerhet i mannaminne, och det fiffigaste av allt är att Mr. Orange påstår sig göra det just av säkerhetsskäl – för att skydda landet mot bruna människor som invaderar söderifrån. De är inte bara mexikaner. De har även bönemattor med sig, deklarerar Mr. Orange myndigt, och folket tror honom.

Så inför hotet om de muslimska mexikanerna glömmer folket allt om fienden från Nya Sovjet och de finner sig snällt i att alla de anställt för att skydda dem går dag ut och dag in till jobbet utan lön, medan deras barn inte får sitt insulin, familjerna lever på snabbmakaroner och lånen förfaller till betalning.

”Det skulle aldrig fungera”, säger du nu, ”för kongressen skulle sätta stopp.”

Men då känner du inte till Senatens ledare Skalman.

Han har ett enda mål i sitt liv, och det är att skydda sina 52 gubbar från att slippa rösta om sånt som folk kan blir sura för. Så han kryper snabbt in i sitt skal, och visar sig inte på veckor trots att den unga, vackra demokraten Alexandria springer runt med Insta i högsta hugg och letar efter honom.

Jo, jag vet vad du tänker nu. Plotten är inte trovärdig.

There’s that.

”What is the server saying?”

So Trump made so many horrifying comments in Helsinki that some stuff passed without anyone having the time to notice. I did. Because I’ve now worked for over two years as head of cloud sales at an IT company, providing more or less that particular service. And as a funny side twist, the company is in fact based in Helsinki, even though I’m not.

When asked about the Russian attack on the U.S., his response was as almost always to ramble about Hillary Clinton, and the DNC server.

”You have groups that are wondering why the FBI never took the server—haven’t they taken the server. Why was the FBI told to leave the office of the Democratic National Committee?

I’ve been wondering that, I’ve been asking that for months and months and I’ve been tweeting it out and calling it out on social media.

Where is the server?

I want to know where is the server and what is the server saying?”

Journalists are so tired of this extreme whataboutism that even Anderson Cooper just called it ”Hillary Clinton’s server” without even bothering to unpack any of it, and it’s understandable that they don’t want to go down that rabbit hole but instead keep the focus on what actually matters.

But it was never about ”Hillary’s server”. It was about the DNC’s server.

The way that not only Trump but also his minions like Trey Gowdy speak of it, it brings an image to mind of a dark corner far away in an attic or a tower, where there would be a dusty server tucked away much like Aurora’s parents tried to hide away all the kingdom’s spinning wheels. It’s sitting there, waiting to be found, filled with intriguing secrets.

”What is the server saying?”

Indeed.

The tale of the DNC server merits being discussed, even though it’s not the most important topic of today, because there are several interesting angles to it. Not to the server per se. But to the tale.

First, the facts:

There was no single physical server. There was a private-hosted cloud-based system with a third party provider. We don’t know which, but it seems to be very similar to that we provide where I work and in companies like the one where I work.

So you obviously don’t rent a physical computer, but infrastructure in the shape of virtual machines (VMs). And they can be located anywhere, in theory. A VM is what it sounds like. A program that imitates a physical server. And the fact is that unless someone had actually broken or snuck into the server hall and left marks or finger prints, the computer in itself is completely irrelevant. What does matter is the entire network, the digital content and the context surrounding it.

What happened after the DNC was hacked by the Russian government in order to support the election of Donald Trump on the very day that Trump asked them to through the infamous ”Russia, if you’re listening …” plea, was that the DNC contacted the FBI to make sure the crime was investigated, and they also, simultaneously, contacted a security company called CrowdStrike to get help to ensure this would never happen again. CrowdStrike created ”a complete image including a memory dump of everything that was in the memory of the server at the time, including traffic and connections at the time”, says Professor Thomas Rid at John Hopkins. Do read the whole article in the link, because the analysis is interesting even though not very surprising to anyone who knows anything about IT. But Trump is somehow insinuating that the DNC were not cooperating with the FBI, thereby trying to move the blame from himself to the actual victims. Pretty much like when a alleged rapist blames the victim for not cooperating with the police, insinuating that she had something to hide.

But the FBI got the image, for all we know, and that helped them to, if not catch, at least name the intruders in their indictment. Therefore, there is no criticism from anyone actually involved towards neither the DNC nor the security company nor FBI.

It’s true that Comey, as well as other senior law enforcement officials, had previously said that the DNC rebuffed requests for direct access to the servers. But those familiar with FBI procedures insist that it is far from unusual for the agency to forego physically obtaining servers targeted by an attack. The former special agent in charge of the FBI’s New York field office cyber division, Leo Taddeo, told the Hill last year that “In nine out of 10 cases, we don’t need access, we don’t ask for access, we don’t get access. That’s the normal [procedure]. It’s extraordinarily rare for the FBI to get access to the victim’s infrastructure because we could mess it up.”

Taddeo added that direct access would be unnecessary “unless there was a reason to think the victim was going to alter the evidence in some way,” while another intelligence official told the Hill that CrowdStrike was “pretty good.”

Concluding: ”The president unsurprisingly either has no idea how digital forensics work or is playing stupid.”

Mmm.

And finally there’s the fun/sad/bizarre part where the leader of the free world, with access to the most advanced intelligence ever known says: ”for months and months and I’ve been tweeting it out and calling it out on social media”.

Yeah.

Social Media is where all the answers to all the intelligence mysteries in the world are to be found.

”The server is in the highest tower in a hidden castle near a river close to a willow tree with the face of Barack Obama, guarded by six golden dragons that will let you enter if you say Hillary Clinton three times backwards.”

Juanita Broaddrick och The Clintons

”Clintons borde inte prata om #metoo så länge de inte hanterar sina egna lik i garderoben.” Ungefär så säger Mika Brzezinski och många fler.

Den värsta anklagelsen mot Bill C är Juanita Broaddricks påstådda våldtäkt.

Kort finns tre led i hennes historia:

1. Hon hjälpte till i hans kampanj och han bad att få komma till hennes hotellrum, för att undvika media. Väl där våldtog han henne. Det var över så snabbt att hon inte hann skrika. Båda var gifta då, men Juanita var i ett förhållande med en annan gift man, och senare skilde sig båda och gifte sig med varandra.

2. Hon träffade Clinton åratal senare, han bad om ursäkt och förklarade att han var ”a different man”.

3. Hon träffade senare Hillary, som tackade henne för allt hon gjort för hennes man. Hon insåg då att Hillary visste och skyddade honom.

juanitaHär är min analys:

Jag tror det gick till ungefär som hon beskrev, men jag tror inte Bill fattade att hon inte ville. De finns fångade på en bild, som togs strax innan, och Juanita och Bill är nästan jämnlånga. Han är förmodligen bara marginellt starkare än hon. De var båda påklädda när den påstådda våldtäkten började, och kläder behövde därför tas av. Och hon ”hann inte” skrika? Hot förekom inte, och hon säger inget om att han höll handen för hennes mun. Hon säger att hon inte ”hann”. Jag försöker se mig själv i den situationen, att en karl i min storlek försöker brotta ner mig på en säng, och jag kan inte se framför mig hur jag inte slåss och skriker.

Jag tror hon talar sanning. Jag tror hon blev överrumplad och inte visste riktigt hur hon skulle agera. Men jag tror också att han uppfattade att hon var med på noterna eftersom hon inte kämpade emot. Jag tror han tänkte att ”här står vi båda i ett sovrum, hon har bjudit in mig, hon säger inte nej, alltså vill hon”.

Hans ursäkt (2) åratal senare kan vara för att han aldrig ringde eller what not. Det är inte nödvändigtvis ett medgivande av skuld. Och det är för mig fullständigt uteslutet att han skulle ha sagt till Hillary ”du, jag våldtog en kvinna medan vi var gifta”, oavsett om det var sant eller ej. Så varför tackade hon henne (3)? Kanske pga att hon jobbat med hans kampanj, kanske för att han sagt att de haft en one-night-stand och hon var glad att Juanita inte gått till pressen med det. Men det finns inte på kartan att Hillary tackade henne för att hon tigit om en våldtäkt.

Så om jag är Hillary och en kvinna samtidigt som Monica Lewinsky-affären briserar går ut och säger ”din man våldtog mig för 20 år sedan och du tackade mig för att jag höll tyst om det”, och jag knappt vet vem hon är finner jag henne nog inte särskilt trovärdig. Jag drar nog slutsatsen att om hon ljuger om mig ljuger hon nog också om min man. Hillary har fått mycket kritik för att hon säger att kvinnor som utsatts för våldtäkt ska bli trodda, eftersom hon inte tror på Juanita. Men det Hillary säger är ”until the evidence says otherwise”, och ”evidence” är nog i detta fall att Hillary anser att hon ljuger om henne.

Detta är inte ett försök att ursäkta Bill. Jag tycker han är en gubbgris som gjorde fruktansvärt fel när han sprang efter diverse kvinnor i många år.

Men en man begår inte en (1) våldtäkt någonsin under ett långt liv på en främmande kvinna. Antingen finns ett mönster, och då borde fler kvinnor ha trätt fram åtminstone anonymt, eller också är våldtäkten personlig, dvs han vill våldta just henne på grund av att hon är hon, men de hade ingen relation. Ingenting tyder på att han är den sortens man som går igång på våld. Hans övriga utomäktenskapliga relationer har präglats av samtycke. Visst stämde Paula Jones honom för sexuella trakasserier, men ingen annan har hävdat våldtäkt.

Därför är min bedömning helt enkelt att hon talar sanning när hon säger att hon inte ville, men eftersom hon inte sa nej eller kämpade emot [tillräckligt] begrep han inte det.

Det som förvånar mig är att ingen annan hittat denna tredje möjlighet vad jag sett. Alla fastnar i ”antingen ljuger hon eller också var det våldtäkt”.

Jag anser alltså att han är eller iaf var en okänslig bock som borde vetat bättre, men jag tror inte han är en våldtäktsman. I alla fall inte i ett land och en tid där samtyckeslag saknas.

Did he ask them to kill her?

”Hillary wants to abolish – essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Those who defend Donald Trump have been wrestling over these words.

”It was a joke!” That was the first interpretation, and probably the most true one, from a former, now fired, campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski.

”This is a political movement. This is a strong political movement, the Second Amendment, and there can be no other interpretation … I mean, give me a break.”

This is what Trump now told his favorite pundit Sean Hannity, and it’s the version that is explained over and over by his supporters.

“What we’re talking about is political power, there’s tremendous political power to save the Second Amendment, tremendous. You look at the power they have in terms of votes and that’s what I was referring to, obviously that’s what I was referring to and everybody knows it.”

I just have to poke around a bit among the sentences.

First of all: He didn’t actually tell them to kill her. So in order to prove that’s what he said, every other interpretation must be ruled out.

Who are ”the second amendment people”? Well, since not even Donald himself denies that he referred to the gun owners, that is a given.

Now, the interpretation he has provided, that he wanted them to vote, is not valid, simply because he starts with an ”if”, and what follows depends on that ”if”.

”If she gets to pick” places us in a situation where she was already elected. You can’t continue that sentence with ”we must make sure she wasn’t elected”, unless you’re in possession of a time machine.

Everything that follows ”if she gets to pick” must be based on the assumption that we’re in a future where Hillary Clinton is the president.

So, let’s simplify the sentences. What he said boils down to:

”When HRC has been elected president, gun owners can still do something about it”.

What can they do? Certainly not vote, for another four years. I would really love to hear any of DJT’s supporters provide alternative interpretations to ”shoot her”. Here are some suggestions:

  • Sulk and hide
  • Move to a war zone like Syria
  • Buy an island and fund a new country
  • Protest in the streets singing anti peace songs like ”We shall undercome” and ”Imagine all the people living life in war”

If I were on his side, I would have stuck with ”I made a bad joke”. It’s probably half true. The other half of the truth is most likely that he is so into his poisonous rhetoric that he thinks suggesting to shoot her is an acceptable thing to say, like the next step after ”lock her up” and ”she should be shot by a firing squad”.
